GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 Rotaract Treelane: Growing a Greener Future, One Tree At A Time BY: MS. LOUISA JAE M. VALDEZ (RACQC MEMBER) The Tree Planting Activity was conducted on July 4, 2026, through the partnership between the Rotaract Club of Quezon City and Carat Land Philippines. Held in Morong, Rizal, the Rotaract Treelane project, aligned with Rotary’s Environment Area of Focus, gathered 115 volunteers who shared a commitment to environmental conservation. The initiative demonstrated how fandom communities and civic organizations can work together to create meaningful and lasting change while strengthening their partnership and providing CARATs with opportunities to participate in environmental programs. The project promoted environmental stewardship through action and education. Volunteers planted tree seedlings to support reforestation efforts and help restore green spaces. Participants also attended the Campaign for Environmental Protection and Sustainability talk, which included a presentation on proper waste segregation at source. The session highlighted the importance of responsible waste management in reducing pollution, improving resource recovery, and protecting the environment. It also encouraged participants to practice sustainable habits daily. Beyond planting trees, the activity inspired CARATs to turn their passion into meaningful action. It demonstrated that fandom can extend beyond supporting artists by contributing positively to society and the environment. The project strengthened teamwork, community engagement, volunteerism, and environmental awareness among participants. The impact of the initiative extends beyond the activity itself. Each tree planted can contribute to cleaner air, improved biodiversity, carbon absorption, and healthier ecosystems for future generations. Overall, the collaboration between Carat Land Philippines and the Rotaract Club of Quezon City demonstrated the power of collective action in advancing environmental advocacy. Its success can inspire future partnerships that encourage more CARATs and community members to participate in sustainability initiatives and continue creating positive change for people, communities, and the planet. By combining environmental action, education, and community participation, the project created a strong foundation for continued collaboration and long-term sustainability efforts in future programs.
