GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 Clouds of Kindness: KaTechys visits Iskolar Reading Center By: Public Image Director Nicole Asuncion The Rotary and Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech's mission goes beyond Quezon City. Through Aklatang Bayan, we have reached multiple communities in Metro Manila. Through this advocacy, we found organizations with the same heart in promoting quality education. On July 29, 2026, Public Image Director Nicole Asuncion, along with six community volunteers, visited Iskolar Reading Center INC, a community library Silang, Cavite. The spacious community library hosts readers ages 5 to 16, with the mission to promote literacy in the community. On the day of the visit, around 50 children came to Iskolar. The program opened with an energizer led by YWAVES Director Natalie Grubbs, which had the children dancing and singing along. Afterward, the children gathered for an interactive animated storybook entitled "Nimbus the Kind Cloud," illustrated by PID Asuncion and read by the author himself, CFYV Cavite Club Service Chair Charles Vitug. The story resonated with the young hearts, who were immersed both in the beautiful illustrations and in its valuable lessons. Through Nimbus' story, we wanted young readers to know that no matter the circumstance, the heart to help and the willingness to do good is what truly matters. Through the comprehension questions given afterward, our volunteers heard a range of interpretations from the children, each reflecting their own understanding of the importance of volunteerism. The day ended with a closing prayer, with hearts full of hope. The Rotary and Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech extends our heartfelt gratitude to our partner organizations and donors: the Center for Filipino Youth Volunteers-Cavite Chapter, YWAVES Youth Arm of FMI Global, the Rotaract Club of PNTC Colleges, and Mrs. Emellee Grubbs, for their generosity, making this initiative possible. Like Nimbus, we believe that the smallest act of kindness can grow into something that creates waves of change, one community at a time. Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech
