Elsewhere in the world right now, a kid is starving. We are not. So, it is time to share. But how? Through The Rotary Foundation or TRF.
In the Rotary world, November is The Rotary Foundation month. TRF supports Rotary members’ service projects that improve health, education, environment, and poverty around the world. Thus, every dollar donated to TRF means clean water and sanitation, health and hope in areas that were once ravaged by diseases like polio and covid and economic development and new opportunities.
With funding from TRF, Rotary members contribute their skills, expertise, and resources to help solve some of the world’s toughest problems. From providing clean water to promoting peace worldwide, TRF grants bring service project ideas to life. Yes, your financial help makes all these happen, and more.
Last Rotary Year 2023-2024 alone, Rotary granted a total of over $108M to fund 1,879 projects worldwide. Of this, 1,287 projects were funded by Global grants worth $72M, 485 District grants valued at $30M and106 Disaster Response grants worth $4M.
Our donations are spent on life-changing, sustainable grants, as well as programs and services that support our members’ transformative work. Rotary has invested over $3 billion in thousands of projects over the past 100 years. Considering the large volume of money going through TRF, do we need to worry about how safe our contributions are going to be? You need not worry.
As a global organization that operates in nearly every country in the world and deals in 29 currencies, Rotary takes stewardship of its funds seriously. The Rotary Foundation is organized as a public charity operated exclusively for charitable purposes and governed by a Board of Trustees.
It publishes an annual report, audited financial statements, and its federal tax returns each year. Financial transparency is key! Rest assured that every dollar you donate will find its way to support a Rotary service project in one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus, not only in the Philippines but in other depressed areas in the world.
So bring that smile on the face of a malnourished child.
That smile is priceless.
