Quezon City was a sea of red and yellow as Rotary International District 3780—led by District Governor Rhyan Virrey—gathered at Camp Gen. Tomas Karingal for a powerful End Polio Now KickOff Celebration!
This event was more than a celebration; it was a renewed pledge to finish a historic mission.
Thanks to decades of tireless work by Rotary and its Global Polio Eradication Initiative partners, polio cases have been slashed by 99.9% worldwide.
However, that final 0.1% is the hardest to reach. It requires continued vigilance, strong surveillance, and—above all—immunizing every last child to ensure the virus cannot return.
The day’s events, including the motorcade, floats, and polio administration, were a testament to our commitment to not stop until the world is certified polio-free.
Our deepest gratitude goes to our incredible host club, the Rotary Club of Camp Crame, especially to our Legacy President, PLTGen Wilson Lopez, for your outstanding leadership and unwavering support in making this event a tremendous success.
We also extend heartfelt thanks to the PNP, QCPD, PNPGH, MMDA, QCHD, TTMD, and all service partners who contributed their time and resources. Your support is invaluable;
- QCPD Team headed by District Director PBGen Chris Olazo, DDA PCol Joel Villanueva, CDS PCol Art Salida, and the whole QCPD Team, along with all PNP and QCPD personnel
- PCol Remigio Gregorio (Ret), Dept. Head III for Operations QC DPOS, and his team.
- Mr. Dexter C. Cardenas, Dept. Head of QC TTMD, and his team.
- MMDA Team.
We are “This Close” to Ending Polio.
Let’s finish the job! ![]()
Maraming, maraming salamat po! God bless us all!
